Aureille

At the foot of the Alpilles, the older part of Aureille is truly picturesque, with lovingly restored houses, a wash house, several stone fountains and oratories. Off the beaten tourist track, far from the summer crowds, its close proximity to so many sites of beauty and interest, as well, of course, to the Mediterranean, will delight you, as will the warmth of its inhabitants and numerous festivities.

What to see, what to visit : 19th century neo-Romanesque parish church with three 3 naves and domed bell tower; now the church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption, it is built on the remains of the 11th century church of Sainte-Marie. The Papal city of Avignon, Arles and its arènes, the Baux de Provence…
