Set between the Comtat Venaissin and the Dauphiné, Suze-la-Rousse hosts the Université du Vin (the renowned wine university). During the eleventh century, it was a priory founded by the Order of Saint Benoît. A fiefdom of the Princes of Orange, then of the Maison des Baux, it became a countship during the sixteenth century and a marquisate during the seventeenth century, property of the lords of La Baume-Suze, the last lords of Suze.

What to see, what to visit: the chapel Saint-Sébastien, the ancient church, the Halle aux grains, the old washer house, the Ampelographic gardens (which has vine plants from the world over)...
