Set midway between Nîmes and Avignon, Fournès is the oldest
village in the canton. Built around a castle, which only has a few ruins still standing today, Fournès nevertheless
has a great many architectural riches: the chapel of Saint-Pierre, the ancient centre, various calvaries, campanile and church.
In addition there are geological points of interest – a small stroll will take you to the clay pits, one of the village's
most striking features.
